TRIZ
What is TRIZ?
теория решения изобретательских задач
TRIZ is the Russian acronym for Theory of Inventive Problem Solving. TRIZ originated in Russia more than 50 years ago and is a well-established system of tools for problem solving, failure analysis and prevention, and idea generation.
TRIZ was started by Genrich Alschuller (1926-1998) and is based on the analysis of thousands of patents and successful technical solutions. This analysis has identified that:
- Technical systems are modelled on the evolution of the laws of nature.
- Models and tendencies can be used to develop and improve systems.
TRIZ is used successfully by many multi-national companies such as ABB, Bosch, Ford, General Motors, Infineon Technologies, Motorola, Samsung,
Singapore Technologies and United Technologies.
Benefits of using TRIZ
TRIZ tools can help you:
- Generate ideas and solve problems faster
- Reformulate problems for optimum solubility
- Identify and use resources effectively
- Find breakthrough solutions
- Understanding of the evolution process of a product
- Get a better understanding of your client's requirements
TRIZ Tools
TRIZ tools include:
Situation Analysis can be used at all stages of product development. Benefits of using Situation Analysis are:
- A better understanding of customer requirements
- Time and money savings in preparing project documentation
- Minimizing future confusion on project requirements/deliverables
- Utilization of resources more effectively, reducing project expenditure and making personnel more efficient
Method of Ideal Result (MIR) can be efficiently deployed during stages of Technology Strategy and Concept Work.
Benefits of using MIR are:
- MIR offers guidelines for directions to pursue
- MIR helps to achieve results utilizing all available resources
- Winning ideas for new products can be chosen more reliably
Substance – Field (Su-Field) Analysis can work very well during stages of Technology Strategy, Concept Work and Selection and Transfer.
Benefits of using Su-Field are:
- Su-Field Analysis provides insights into product’s evolution
- Enables you to choose concepts with longer market life
- Helps in minimizing time-to-market and maximizing probability of a product’s success
Contradiction Table and 40 Principles can be very helpful during Concept Work and Selection and Transfer stages. Benefits of using Contradiction
Tables and 40 Principles are:
- Capability of generating more ideas quickly
- Winning ideas for new products can be chosen more reliably capability to achieve better technical characteristics,
often at patentable level
Patterns of Evolution can be used during the Technology Strategy stage. Benefits of using Patterns of Evolution are:
- Insights into directions of technology/product/concept evolution
- Help in designing of tomorrow’s products today
- Reduction in time and costs of product development
- Maximising probability of product’s success
Failure Analysis can be used in all stages of product development and is a powerful tool for failure prevention. Benefits of
using Failure Analysis are:
- Improved reliability of products developed
- Minimizes time and financial losses related to unexpected problems during product development and manufacture Patterns of
Evolution can be used during Technology Strategy stage
- Offer insights into directions of technology/product/concept evolution
- Help in designing of tomorrow’s products today
- Enable to reduce both time and costs of product development, maximizing probability of product’s success
